Foolish Man

from Snow Day Single by James R. Gray

/

lyrics

Foolish man, though he'll never have anything
He speaks as though he owns the land and the sea.
And that foolish man is pointing his finger,
Trying to make a fool of you and of me.
Foolish man is practicing law, and he
Drives a big car, and shares his love in vain.
And that foolish man thinks he's already won,
But in fact he's never even played the game.

Foolish man, I don't know where he came from,
Or where he will go when he dies.
But that foolish man looks in the mirror, and sees
Someone better than you, in his eyes.

Honest man works his hands to the bone, so that
He can provide for his wife and his kid.
He puts food on the table, bought a beautiful home,
And there's no place that he'd rather live.
Honest man gets off early from work one day,
And drives home to visit his lovely wife.
He opens the front door, and to his surprise,
He finds his wife in bed with some foolish guy.

He says "Foolish man, I don't know where you came from,
But now is the hour of your death."
And that honest man loaded a bullet,
And he shot that damn foolish man in his head.
